This project started from the idea of gathering artists from every part of the world in Riff’s area. From the interaction with the culture and people, artists would express all their feelings through art. The result of this artistic experiment is a fascinating exhibition, where every piece is unique and tells an astounding story.

The inaugural event will take place on Thursday, 20 February, at 18.30h, and it will feature a projection named “Notes sur l’émigration. 1960 Espagne” (Jacinto Esteva i Paolo Brunatto), little pieces of other films and a panel discussion with the participation of Juan Amorós (director of many films of Jacinto Esteva), Serena Vergano (actress) and Daria Esteva (daughter of the artist).

The exhibition shows the essential aspects of life that inspired Jacinto Esteva, like painting, architecture, cinema, endless landscapes and the risk of major hunt that he discovered in Africa. In addition, the retrospective includes unpublished and other restored material by the Conservation Centre of the Filmoteca de Catalunya.

The history of Bagués-Masriera Jewelry Company starts in 1839, with José Masriera Vidal and his sons José and Francisco that mixed romanticism with historical references. In the beginning of XX century, with Lluís Masriera, the modernism and art jewelry came. He created the Barcelona enamel and the Catalan modernism was present in jewelry full of symbolism. Between 1915 and 1930 were the “noucentisme” and Art Deco years. The combination of both was a successful in the International Art Deco Exposition of Paris in 1925.

The next great age for Masriera jewelry started in 1950 and lasted three decades, with the recovery of distinguish jewels. In fact, we are looking at expensive and with a high esthetic valuable jewels. During those years, the society with Bagués starts but only with half of it because the other half will come in the next period.

Between 1980 and 2000 the sense of artistic jewels comes back and shows the opulence of the moment. With the golden age that 1992 means to Barcelona, the modernist enamel was recast and a collection inspired by Gaudí was done. From early century, Bagués-Mastiera has confirmed as a referent in luxury jewelry in vanguard, from Barcelona to the whole world.

In this exposition you will able to see models, paintings, sketches and reconstructions from the artists that will let see his different facets. Most of the pieces come from the Fondation Le Corbusier from Paris and MoMa from New York. In these pieces you can see Le Corbusier work that he did through the whole world and during his all life, from South America to India, from New York to Paris.

Precisely, he established his study room in the French capital in 1917. There, he was in touch with artist and he was influenced by new art trends like cubism. His artistic sensibility was the key for his later architecture facet. Because of that, his work has poetic and provocative interpretation about the new technological world that was growing.

He worked approximately in 400 projects and built 75 buildings in twelve countries. His particular vision changed the urban physiognomy where he worked in and he tried to match architectonic creations with nature and landscapes. Le Corbusier style is still alive in many urban spaces and in the architectures that came after him.

In Bits show, we find sketches that take place during the day but as the show goes on, this situation become weirder where the laughs are assured. More than thousand people enjoyed Bits. Their particular and surrealistic way to see the humor is the most effective formula in a situation that the best thing to do is laugh. Bits received a lot of critics that regards it as one of the best shows of the Catalan group.

With this show, Tricicle wants to say goodbye, after eight successful shows, with their best sketches. This show is a self tribute that will give you a lot of laughs. After this show that is touring through all Spain, Tricicle will leave the stage.

To celebrate this successful 40 years, Tricicle will create next year a tour with their best gags of all time. After this, the actor will focus in their personal lives and the creation of new shows where they won’t act but will use Tricicle brand. We have to remind you that under this brand there are great shows like Forever Young, a successful show that took place a few years ago.

His life was tough because he knew at a very early age that he wanted to be a painter but his father didn’t let him being an artist. When he worked in the family business, he used to spend hours doing sketches that helped him to improve. After a few years, he dedicated his life to paintings and he moved to Paris. In the French capital he met big artists like Monet and Cézanne.

Together took the technique to a new style. Manet, Monet, Sisley, Guillaumin and Renoir created a style that became very popular in the XIX Century: the impressionism. Pissarro made his technique unique and became very famous around the world. Pissarro knew that his technique would get worst because he had an ocular disease that didn’t let him see well. For this reason, he had to leave the countryside and moved to the city.

As every artist, a change in his life means a change in his work. In this case, we can see some changes in Pissarro kind of work. From big landscapes to crowdie Paris streets. The painter decided to stay in different hotels from where he could paint the different streets of the city of love.

Pissarro was a painter that always thought about his public and he wanted to interact with it. He’s known for being the road painter and making them with a double meaning. A road was the reference to introduce people into the painting, it helped to locate the characters inside the painting and it gives us a reflection of real life.

In fact, it’s been 50 years since the murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy in Dallas the occasion well deserves a tribute in PhotoEspaña, this year.

Elijah Wood will be part of this edition. His last film, “Grand Piano”, will be responsible for the festival opening. Movie fans will also enjoy with the presence of Alejandro Jodorowski and Charles Dance. On the other hand, Eli Roth will introduce his new film and second movie as a director after “Hostel 2”, “The Green Inferno”. If we talk about sequels, people will be able to see “Insidious part 2”, a new movie phenomenon from the Malaysian director, James Wan.

This year’s edition is about evil’s origins and the presence of Satan. This way the festival wants to pay tribute to Roman Polanski’s film “Rosemary’s Baby” that is celebrating its 45th birthday. Promotional posters can be seen in every town and they show a stroller in flames with the famous San Bartolomé and Santa Tecla church behind it. These posters always pay tribute to the festival annual theme and they always surprise us.

This new edition, as usual, will bring a loyal and international audience. The festival sold more than 6000 tickets during the first day making it a record attendance as a movie festival.
