For this reason, Loewe’s Gallery at Passeig de Gracia 91 offers to us what happen behind a catwalk thanks to Anna Bauer. This German photographer has achieved to capture, in a very natural way, the backstage routine. The resulting photo collection is unique and intimate.

In this exhibition, we will find the work of ten fashion seasons, from 2007 to 2012, in the most important world fashion capitals. We will see lots of famous faces, from international models to iconic designers. With a Polaroid camera, Anna Bauer brings us what most people can’t live in a catwalk.

The exhibition collects the final work of this photographer, summarised in her book, called Backstage and published by Angelica Taschen. Attendants will watch the most innovative short films every afternoon at CCCB, Ars Santa Mònica, Institut Francès or Fàbrica Moritz de Barcelona. After the attendance success in previous editions, this year its organization has decided to distribute sessions among big venues of the city.

There are four competition sections: International, Oblique, Documentary and Animated short film. This way, festival attendants will be able to watch films that won’t leave anyone indifferent. Short films will compete in those four categories, with international renowned juries to win each prize.

Attending this festival it’s a cheap chance to enjoy culture and to enjoy some different days in Barcelona. To whom who want to go, daily tickets cost €4,50 and the festival pass, just €25. This pass allows enjoying all sessions and lectures in the different areas where they take place. This year’s guest country is Netherlands, which will bring its best short films, documentaries and animated films. It’s a whole experience for film lovers, who will see all the exciting novelties in seventh art.

Guitar Festival BCN aims to position itself as an alternative to the summer festivals and mix artists of different nationalities and styles in various spaces of the city, creating an absent offer in the winter months.

In this edition, Guitar Festival BCN celebrates 25 years of the festival, a quarter century offering quality music to the city. This edition extends the range of styles, with big jazz, indie, folk and pop bands. That’s why we will see artists like Luz Casal, Loquillo, Andrés Calamaro or Nacho Vegas.

The line up shows a great musical diversity wich will be able to satisfy all music lovers, always defending the guitar as a transmitter of good music. The most awaited international artists are innovatives Crystal Fighters, band that will play at Sant Jordi Club the 15th of May. Also awaited are Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, which will play at the iconic Luz de Gas next April 24.

Next 24, 25, 26 and 27 of February in the Fira de Gran Via will take place the Mobile World Congress, the main event for those technology and mobile innovation fans.

Barcelona is the international mobile capital and the city holds a new edition of the main event in smartphones and tablet world. During four days, the knowledge, innovation and new business models creations will be in the Catalan city.

An international event needs a big place to stay. For this reason, the Fira de Gran Via will hold again the Mobile World Congress. Building dimensions were 51.600 square meters in 2008 and 94.000 square meters last edition.

We have to see the opportunity to start a business thanks to this event because the main industries that work in mobile will be the expositors and speakers. This year, as a surprise, the creator of the most famous social media network, Facebook, will do a conference for all the assistants.

Mark Zuckerberg’s visit is not the only big news. Mobile’s fan are waiting for the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the first Nokia with Android system that without a doubt, is the best place to show this platform to the whole world.

If we talk about numbers, this edition hopes to get more that 79.000 people and more than 1500 companies will should their last work. This event is more than welcomed because its economic impact to the town will be more than 300 million Euros.

It was last Friday 31^st when the Hotel Omm uniform designer, Josep Abril, was proclaimed winner for having the best collection that combined creativity, quality and selling. 080 Barcelona Fashion Award has been provided with 20.000 Euros that the Catalan designer wants to invest in their international projects and in his brand in Catalunya.

Josep Abril collection called “Reflections” was presented last Wednesday 20^th and it was a successful of sober and minimalist design. Unlike other designers that only stand up for creativity, Abril wants to make a functional collection with suits and practical dresses; in short, a kind of clothes that people can wear every day.

During the award ceremony in Born Centre Cultural, the president of the jury, Song Pham, valued the dresses elegance of Josep Abril and he was excited about the award he was receiving that will let him to expand outside Barcelona.

In this exposition you will able to see models, paintings, sketches and reconstructions from the artists that will let see his different facets. Most of the pieces come from the Fondation Le Corbusier from Paris and MoMa from New York. In these pieces you can see Le Corbusier work that he did through the whole world and during his all life, from South America to India, from New York to Paris.

Precisely, he established his study room in the French capital in 1917. There, he was in touch with artist and he was influenced by new art trends like cubism. His artistic sensibility was the key for his later architecture facet. Because of that, his work has poetic and provocative interpretation about the new technological world that was growing.

He worked approximately in 400 projects and built 75 buildings in twelve countries. His particular vision changed the urban physiognomy where he worked in and he tried to match architectonic creations with nature and landscapes. Le Corbusier style is still alive in many urban spaces and in the architectures that came after him.

This year, the Catalan catwalk will have the awaited returns of brands that add to the prestige of this fashion event. For example, Sita Murt, the company that has taken part for some years in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, now has decided to start a new stage in Barcelona. In the Catalan capital, they presented their first collections at the old Gaudí’s catwalk. This way, Sita Murt is one of the three brands –together with Guillermina Baeza and TCN– that have come back from Madrid to their origins in Barcelona. Txell Miras will also be at the 080 Barcelona Fashion in order to present her new collection: ‘Retrats’ (portraits).

The 080 Barcelona Fashion keeps up acting as a springboard for the budding talents. For this reason, the new edition will introduce us new faces. This is the case of Lebor Gabala, the professional project by designer Maite Muñoz; Manuel Cruz Castillo, whose work appeared in public for the first time in Madrid; and SSIC and PAUL, by Paula Boadas and Jessica Raya. These potential creators add to the list formed by Georgina Vendrell, who is specialised in men’s clothing, and Oscarleon.

After starring a brilliant début, Selim de Somavilla is back at the 080 Barcelona Fashion. The designer was awarded in the past July’s edition with the special mention for the collection ‘A Thousand Words’. Selim will share the catwalk with Krizia Robustella, in a show that promises to be one of the most eclectic and colourful of the event. Natalie Capell will also take part in the 080, for the second time, with her new collection ‘A Dream’.
