For this reason, Loewe’s Gallery at Passeig de Gracia 91 offers to us what happen behind a catwalk thanks to Anna Bauer. This German photographer has achieved to capture, in a very natural way, the backstage routine. The resulting photo collection is unique and intimate.

In this exhibition, we will find the work of ten fashion seasons, from 2007 to 2012, in the most important world fashion capitals. We will see lots of famous faces, from international models to iconic designers. With a Polaroid camera, Anna Bauer brings us what most people can’t live in a catwalk.

The exhibition collects the final work of this photographer, summarised in her book, called Backstage and published by Angelica Taschen. With this exposition, they want to show us that is possible to talk about a visual identity of Barcelona thanks to artist’s work.

Composed by thematic blocks, through all the exposition you will be able to see known photographers but also a new generations of photographers that have a great techniques and styles. You could see international photographers but also those ones that are in charge of showing the daily day of this city. We are celebrating this edition because there are five Spanish winners: Bernat Armangué, Emilio Morenatti, Daniel Ochoa de Olza, Pep Bonet and Miquel Dewever-Plana, and we can enjoy all of them in the exposition located in the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona (CCCB). This year controversy comes with Daniel Ochoa’s photography; his photographs were going to be exposed through the whole city but the city hall decided the very last moment not to do it because they didn’t want to hurt anybody’s sensitivity.

This is a powerful exposition that shows us the worldwide reality. If you are a photography fan or a photojournalist fan you can’t miss this exposition under any circumstance.

This edition number 13 wants to break the assistance record. Every year the exposition is more and more popular. It’s not a exposition to see beautiful photographs but to see impact works. Not everybody can see the exposition but it’s much recommended to come and see the winner’s works.

Chema Madoz (Madrid, 1958) characterizes by transforming reality trough photographic supports, turning objects into something they are not and getting to fill his plays of limitless visual poetry and symbolism. Another characteristic of the suggestive artist is his irony, his photographs not only generate admiration because of their esthetic composition but also because of their capacity to distort reality creating unimaginable metaphors and burst with irony, inviting to reflection constantly.

In this exhibition, it is also posible to enjoy a section where are shown the collaboration made between the artist and the poets Joan Brossa, with whom created the book Fotopoemario and Salvador Espriu, with whom developed the collection of poems Per al llibre de salms d’aquests vells cecs, in which each one of the forty haikus from the Sinera poet were accompanied by a Madoz’s photograph.

The exhibition is located very close to our hotel in Paseo de Gracia, Hotell Omm. You can see it at La Pedrera (Passeig de Gràcia, 92) until July, 28th.
